5454 aluminum plate, also designated as AW-5454 or UNS A95454, belongs to the 5000 series aluminum-magnesium alloys. It is characterized by outstanding resistance to seawater and atmospheric corrosion, combined with high fatigue strength and medium-to-high mechanical strength. As a non-heat-treatable alloy, 5454 develops its strength primarily through cold working. This alloy demonstrates excellent weldability and formability, making it ideal for applications where durability and corrosion resistance are essential. Typical uses include shipbuilding, marine structures, transport vehicle bodies, chemical processing equipment, fuel and storage tanks, and general structural components.
Typical thickness ranges from 0.2 mm to 6 mm for plate and up to 100 mm for plate, with widths available up to 2650 mm or more. Surface finishes include mill finish, anodized, polished, and coated options. 5454 aluminum conforms to international standards such as ASTM B209 and EN 573/485. Due to its excellent forming characteristics and resistance to stress corrosion cracking, 5454 aluminum plate is widely used in shipbuilding, vehicle bodies, pressure vessels, storage tanks, and marine structures requiring high durability and long service life.

5454 aluminum plate is a non-heat-treatable aluminum-magnesium alloy known for its excellent corrosion resistance, especially in marine and chemical environments. It offers medium-to-high strength, superior fatigue resistance, and outstanding weldability. The alloy maintains good mechanical stability after welding and exhibits excellent formability for both cold and hot working processes. 5454 aluminum also demonstrates resistance to stress corrosion cracking and retains its strength even under long-term exposure to seawater or industrial atmospheres. With its smooth surface, good anodizing properties, and compliance with standards such as ASTM B209 and EN 485, 5454 aluminum plate is an ideal material for applications requiring strength, corrosion protection, and long-lasting performance.
