5056 aluminum sheet belongs to the 5000 series Al-Mg alloys, in which magnesium (approximately 4.5–5.6%) serves as the primary alloying element. This non-heat-treatable alloy is strengthened through cold working and is well known for its high strength, excellent corrosion resistance—particularly in marine and saltwater environments—and good formability.
