5086 aluminum plate is a kind of aluminum plate that increases strength through cold working (strain strengthening). 5086 is stronger than 5052/5083 and has good seawater corrosion resistance and welding performance. Therefore, it is widely used in ships, marine structures, pressure vessels, cryogenic/deep-cold equipment and protective armor.

5086 Aluminum Plate is widely used in applications that require high strength, excellent corrosion resistance, and good weldability. Its primary uses include:
Marine and Shipbuilding – hulls, decks, and superstructures due to superior seawater resistance.
Offshore Structures – platforms and components exposed to harsh marine environments.
Vehicle Bodies – trucks, trailers, and armored vehicles for lightweight and durable panels.
Pressure Vessels and Cryogenic Tanks – for low-temperature and high-pressure storage.
Industrial Equipment – chemical, petrochemical, and other corrosive environments.
Armor and Protective Applications – panels requiring toughness and impact resistance.
In short, 5086 aluminum plate is ideal for marine, industrial, and structural applications where strength, corrosion resistance, and weldability are critical.
High Strength (Non-Heat-Treatable) – Strengthened through cold working rather than heat treatment, providing higher strength than 5052 and comparable alloys.
Excellent Corrosion Resistance – Especially resistant to seawater and marine environments, making it ideal for shipbuilding and offshore applications.
Good Weldability – Can be welded easily without losing corrosion resistance, suitable for structural and industrial fabrication.
Ductility and Toughness – Offers good formability for bending, forming, and shaping without cracking.
Lightweight – Typical of aluminum alloys, providing strength-to-weight efficiency for marine, automotive, and industrial uses.
Versatile Surface Finishes – Available in mill finish, anodized, brushed, or coated surfaces depending on the application.
Standard Compliance – Meets ASTM B928, UNS A95086, and other international standards for chemical and mechanical properties.
