Introduction of 3004 Aluminum Sheet
3004 aluminum sheet is a versatile aluminum-manganese alloy that is widely used across many industries. At Zggmetal, we supply 3004 aluminum sheet and plate in multiple tempers, all manufactured in strict accordance with ASTM B209 standards to ensure stable quality and dependable performance.
3004 aluminum alloy is a multifunctional Al-Mn alloy that offers a practical balance of moderate strength, good corrosion resistance, and excellent formability. Its primary elements include aluminum, manganese, and a small amount of magnesium. Compared with 3003 aluminum alloy, 3004 provides improved rust resistance, making it one of the more corrosion-resistant options within the non-heat-treatable aluminum series.
This alloy is also cost-effective and easy to process. Higher strength and better ductility can be achieved through cold working rather than heat treatment. Common tempers such as H12, H14, H18, H19, and H24 are available to meet different forming and performance requirements. Since 3004 aluminum sheet is not heat-treatable, its mechanical properties are enhanced only through cold rolling and cold drawing processes.
3004 Aluminum Sheet Advantages
- Balanced Strength with Excellent Formability
In the annealed condition, this aluminum alloy delivers medium strength that exceeds 3003 aluminum alloy and is slightly higher than the 1000 series aluminum. Its stable structure and high-temperature plasticity allow for smooth deep drawing and reliable forming without cracking.
- Strong Corrosion and Rust Resistance
With the addition of manganese as a key alloying element, this material shows enhanced resistance to corrosion. It performs well in humid, acidic, and alkaline environments, helping extend service life and reduce maintenance costs.
- Reliable Processing and Fabrication Performance
The alloy supports both TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) and MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding. It is well suited for stamping, bending, and other secondary forming processes, offering consistent performance during fabrication.
- Lightweight Structure with Flexible Surface Treatments
Lightweight yet structurally stable, this aluminum alloy supports multiple surface treatments, including anodizing, coating, and color coating. These options improve surface appearance while delivering a clean, modern finish for both functional and decorative applications.
