The 2A11 aluminum alloy plate belongs to the Al-Cu-Mg alloy family in the 2000 series aluminum alloys. It is widely recognized as a traditional “standard duralumin” material and is valued for its balanced mechanical performance, good ductility, and stable fatigue resistance.
This alloy can be strengthened through heat treatment processes such as quenching and aging. After proper heat treatment, the 2A11 aluminum plate exhibits reliable mechanical strength while maintaining workable plasticity. The material performs well in annealed, quenched, and hot-worked conditions, which makes it suitable for machining, forming, and structural manufacturing.
Thanks to its excellent strength-to-weight ratio, 2A11 aluminum plate is commonly used in aerospace structures, mechanical components, transportation equipment, and industrial fasteners where strength and durability are required without excessive weight.
The 2A11 aluminum alloy provides stable mechanical performance with tensile strength generally exceeding 370 MPa after appropriate treatment. This level of strength makes it suitable for medium-load structural components and engineering applications.
As a typical heat-treatable aluminum alloy, 2A11 can be significantly strengthened through quenching and aging treatments. These processes improve both the mechanical strength and structural stability of the material.
The alloy maintains good formability in the annealed and hot-worked states, allowing it to perform well in forming operations such as bending, stamping, and shaping. This characteristic makes it suitable for complex structural parts.
In the quenched and aged condition, 2A11 aluminum plate offers reliable cutting performance. It can be machined efficiently to produce precision mechanical components and structural parts.
Due to its copper-based alloy system, 2A11 aluminum demonstrates consistent fatigue strength, making it suitable for parts that experience repeated stress during operation.
